New Movie Telstar Tells the Story of Joe Meek
Telstar tells the story of Joe Meek, the world’s first independent record producer who enjoyed phenomenal early success before bad luck, depression, heartbreak and paranoia forced him into murder and suicide. Meek was published by Ivy Music (now through Music Sales) and had a string of hits through the 1960s. Telstar the movie is directed by Nick Moran and stars Con O’Neill as Meek, Kevin Spacey, Pam Ferris, James Corden and Ralf Little. The film is named after the producer’s biggest hit which was recorded by The Tornados and the soundtrack features several songs published by Music Sales, including “Telstar.”
