These copyrights are maintained by a network of wholly owned worldwide companies in the USA, the UK, Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, and Spain. Within Australia, the creative team in our Sydney office works to best exploit our ever-growing catalogue of exceptional music.
With hundreds of thousands of titles, Music Sales controls an impressive catalogue of songs spanning every genre of popular music. From the late Twenties to today’s chart hits, we control memorable standards, Broadway show tunes, Big Band greats, Rock & Roll, Jazz, Blues, Country, Disco, Rap and Hip-hop, Electronica, New Wave, Modern and Alternative Rock, Reggae, classic love songs, and much more. One of the highlights of the Australian office is our representation of the Arc/Jewel catalogue. The Arc catalogue goes to the very birth of Rock & Roll with writers like Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker and Sonny Boy Williamson and classic songs such as “Johnny B Goode,” “Who Do You Love” and “I’m A Man.”
A significant expansion into serious music began with the purchase in 1986 of G. Schirmer/Associated Music Publishers, America’s preeminent classical music publisher. Founded in 1861, G. Schirmer enjoys a reputation for championing the avant-garde as well as its rich catalogue of important traditional works. G Schirmer Australia also represents composers from other Music Sales companies worldwide, including Chester Music, Edition Wilhelm Hansen, Novello, and Unión Musical Ediciones.
